Weir Quay Sailing Club

Weir Quay Sailing Club was formed in 1966 and serves both dinghy and cruising yacht sailors.

It has an enthusiastic dinghy section that runs training sessions for all ages on Friday evenings.  You can take part either in your own boat or in one of the club’s own fleet of dinghies.  We aim to encourage local families to take part in sailing and help them progress through the sport from dinghies through to cruising yachts.  We also send a number of our  young members on a week’s tall ship sailing experience every year.  Some spaces are available in the Hub Club Boat Park for members’ private dinghies.

Cruising members keep their boats on club or other local moorings or in the various marinas throughout Plymouth Sound and the adjacent waters.  Storage for some of our members’ tenders can be provided in the Hub Club Boat Park.

Our club events calendar includes special away days for dinghy and cruisers either up-river to Calstock and Cotehele or down to Plymouth Sound and further afield.  We organise a range of social gatherings both afloat and ashore including our end of season dinner, new years day walk and our well attended spring talks.

We are a friendly club that always offers a warm welcome to new members.
